At Key Chrysler Dodge Jeep Ram in Newcastle ME, we're proud to announce that four of the SUV and truck models we have available just earned impressive New England winter driving awards. The New England Motor Press Association (NEMPA) recently honored the new Grand Wagoneer, the new Ram 1500 pickup, the new Jeep Grand Cherokee L and the new Jeep Wrangler with its 2022 NEMPA Winter Driving Awards.
At the NEMPA winter driving test, only the strong survive
Each year during the coldest months, journalists from NEMPA put popular vehicles through demanding driving tests in the middle of New England's rugged winter weather. When the evaluations are completed at NEMPA headquarters in Middleborough, MA, only a few elite winners emerge. This year they included the Grand Wagoneer, the Ram 1500, the Jeep Grand Cherokee L and the Jeep Wrangler.
The NEMPA winter competition is a test of automotive character
John Paul, president of NEMPA, commended the Grand Wagoneer for its cold weather capabilities with 510 horsepower and 9,850 pounds of towing capacity. The Ram 1500 conquered the pickup category with its 6.2-liter supercharged HEMI® engine. The Jeep Grand Cherokee L came in first among mid-size SUVs with its three rows of seating and muscular off-road capability. The Jeep Wrangler was the decisive winner among compact SUVs.
